Stampede Pass early archery thoughts
« on: July 10, 2019, 06:54:20 AM »
Got to hunt it a couple days in 2017 before we got kicked out cause of the fire. One missed oppurtunity and only got to cover a small amount of the unit. Curious on what some of you may know or willing to share on your experience hunting the unit in September?

Which part did you hunt?  Did you come in off the 54 road if I remember correctly?

For archery it is a great place to hunt.  It is a zoo for rifle.  I used to hunt i back in the late 90s.  I would drive down into Lester, and hunt the border of the watershed.  If I didnt do all my archery elk hunting out of state, that is probably where I would be looking.

I’d keep that unit off the net, from what I’ve heard it’s already a zoo even in archery. I know it’s hard to ask any other way so I get it, I just hope you get PM’s.  Good luck

Steep, deep and lots of peeps. Most hang out in the watershed.

My cousin has tried it few times recently.  Not the greatest unit.  Steep n deep for sure.  Some elk, more people than elk.  Not impressed like it once was.  He claims to be looking to another area now.  No kills.
MAGA!  Again..
