Sequim area crabbing.

So with the shrimp limit increasing to 120 per person on July 15th, we are planning on going up there for some shrimp and looking to drop some crab pots. I have shrimped the area before with success but never crabed in the area.
Any advise on where to drop the crab pots would be great.

And yes, I know to drop them in water........

Just looking for pointers

Dungees, and either  but Dungenes bay/spit would be closer to the shrimpmh grounds. Planning o  dropping shrimp pots first light and then drop the crab pots while they soak.

Hell, would be nice to catch some salmon  while were there now that i think about it....... lol

What seems best is to use clams for bait.  Then find eelgrass and put the traps on the edges, but put them just far enough away from the grass such that when the tide starts pushing grass it can't clog up your trap.  Ideally, the tide pulls the scent of your bait through the grass, then after the shift the grass lays over the other way.  Guess just kind of depends what side of the grass you set on for the tide.

Well starting the  15th shrinking is open 7 days a week, I did not see anything about crab being closed, and not like it to close crab just for shrimp opening.
