My thoughts are that modern firearm season shouldn't be as long as archery because you have the choice of picking up a bow or muzzleloader if you want a longer season. The system the WDFW uses with resource allocation works fine the way it is now and the harvest would increase affecting the health of the herds in the long run.

I'd be willing to let rifle have the same time if WDFW made them use single shot rifles with open sights.   Oh wait, that would be inline muzzy season, never mind.

Yea you can hunt the columbia basin units for any elk. Long season too. And they kill like 3 elk out there every year.

4 day's to hunt is better than nothing. use your vacation if you got it and go  some elk.

i voted no but i think it should be a little longer, its 10 days now and i dont think 14 would hurt. besides i got the vacation and i use it the same way every year

I work as well and for early archery season we only get 4 days to hunt as well.  When I muzzle loader hunted I only had 1 weekend to hunt.  So the modern guys don't have it so bad.

And how would you control the limit?  Do it like crab and when the limit is done no matter how quick that happens shut the season down?  How would that be fair to guys who hadn't shot one yet.  I think that would cause alot of problems, and fighting as well.  Because then the rifle guys would wonder why the archery and muzzle loaders didn't have limits etc.
