So I'm thinking we are likely at peak humpy migration in area 8-2, 9, abd 10. Thoughts? One more weekend?

Since I haven’t had a chance to get out yet I’d say we might be past the peak.

Still alittle early, even with the "expected low returns." :eyeroll: Another week and id say its closer to the peak for the sound guys. Early/Mid September for us river guys "for pinks" is typically our peak. Leaning more toward early Sept.

They are thick in the shipwreck area.  You can’t drop your gear down to chase chinooks without catching a pink.

I spent 5 days out at Neah Bay last week with Searun and the Pink fishing was odd...
Day 1:  90% pinks
Day 2: 75% pinks
Day 3: 20% pinks
Day 4: 10% pinks
Day 5: 25% pinks

Regardless the fishing was spectacular for Coho.   Saw seals, sealions, sea otters, porpoise, and humpbacks were everywhere.  One blue shark was sighted and even caught 3 mackerel.

When fish are thick anyone run a spoon just above the flasher? I'm thinking of running the flasher off the ball and clipping in about 5 feet above.

Tacoma waterfront had nice schools swimming by shore. Got this one and lost two others on ultra lite trout rod with 4lb test.

Called ace in the hole I believe. Run your spoon/bait at least ten feet above ball and at least that far beyond the flasher.

I do it, although I haven't tried for humpies.  And I don't run it that far back or up.  Probably 3 or 4 feet above the flasher and back 7 feet from the wire.  The idea is to have it about as far from the flasher as you'd typically want your gear.  I haven't tried, but I assume 10 ft up and 10 ft back would put the gear a long ways from the flasher and be detrimental.

Roger. Ty. Think I'll give it a go. Standard pink hoochie on one side, run the white coyote killer above the flasher opposite side....see what happens.
