Had to work a bit harder today for them, took us until 10 to catch 2 limits off Redondo.

What’s the magic set up?

Deep water 180 to 250, 40 feet on the wire.
Wife was using Purple Haze dodger and Kingfisher spoon.
I got mine on a micro hoochie with wabble head (orange) pulled it out of my Koke box.

I ran a flasher 6 feet off my DR Ball, and main line to the DR clip, with my hoochie about 4 feet behind and above the flasher.

Gasman, thanks for the info!  Gave it a shot this morning and it was slow going. Lost one at the boat and that was it. Most fish I saw caught were shakers. Talked to a handful of boats and all said it was a slow day. Again, thanks for the info

They may have moved south, try Brown's Point or along the Tacoma Waterfront,
BUT I'm sure more are to come, they are still getting big numbers up North off Whidbey island.

If you can, go to Brown's point lighthouse park around high tide, watch the shore fisherman, if they are catching fish, then they are still in the area.

I know we seen fish surfacing, rolling and jumping around the Yellow buoy south of Vashon when we were passing by both days  probably didn't need to run to Redondo,  but since we did so well, we headed that way.

Fish are still there in 9 and 8-2.  Easy limits the last few days.

Good deal.  Trailer is fixed and I’ll either do a Friday afternoon or Sat trip.

Some of the bucks seem to be running huge this year.  Barbecued a blackened hen filet tonight.  Very good.  Will be back up tomorrow, fishing Thursday and maybe Friday.  Will report out.

it's better than the complete closure it was scheduled for..
I agree their numbers were way off this year.  "low pink return" turned into a great run..."reduced kings" turned into a great season... to be honest i think the coho run might be garbage if we got off this logic  :chuckle:

For all you fishermen of the Puke:

Anglers allowed to retain 2 additional pink salmon in the lower Puyallup River on days open to fishing
Action:  Anglers may retain 2 additional pink salmon as part of the salmon daily limit.
Effective date:  Aug. 31 through Oct. 31
Species affected:  Pink salmon.
Location:  Puyallup River, from the 11th St. Bridge to the East Main Bridge.
Reason for action:  170,000 Pink salmon have been passed above the Buckley trap, exceeding the preseason forecast and the escapement goal for the Puyallup. The higher than expected return supports additional harvest opportunity for recreational anglers.
Additional information:  Salmon:  Min. size 12”. Daily limit 6. Up to 2 adults plus 2 additional pink salmon may be retained. Release chum and wild Chinook.
A reminder:  Pink salmon over 12” are considered adults. Anglers may not continue to fish for salmon after the adult portion of their daily limit has been retained. The lower Puyallup River is closed to all recreational angling Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays during the months of September and October

Good. They had conservative regulations until they reached their escapement goals and now they are opening up a little. This is the way it should be. Start slow, make sure you get the fish you need, and then let people have a more liberal crack at what's coming.
I hunt, therefore I am.... I fish, therefore I lie.
