Stephanie and Devon from Florida drew Montana deer tags and were Derek's next hunters after he got his bull. They nailed a couple nice bucks and were done a day early, great job everyone!

Three more bulls taken with guide Tate, this group of guys from West Virginia hunted extremely hard and all three scored on branch bulls, that doesn't happen very often! Good job hunting and great shooting guys, you kept us pretty busy packing elk that week!

Here's another cougar that guide Brian recently caught for Jason from Florida. Jason was scheduled to be his first cougar hunter but the weather forecast wasn't good so I talked Jason into delaying his hunt until later in the season. He sent me this message before the hunt:

"Thank you for being honest, and trying to make sure I get the best hunt for my money. This is the most I have ever spent on a hunt. It's good to know that I picked a outfitter that looks out for me the Hunter."


After the hunt I asked if he had a good time:

"I had a great time. Your son is the most impressive guide I have ever met. And the best tracker I've ever met that boy must be half Indian."
"And again, thanks for talking me into coming later. You have a first class operation."

Weather has not been good lately in our lion hunting area so we haven't done any cat hunts for about a month, I'm not sure if we will get any more good weather, we may be done lion hunting for this season. I would rather have hunters wait till next year than come and have an unsuccessful hunt.

We did spend a week in Utah cow elk hunting, 3 out of 4 hunters tagged elk, the 4th hunter missed numerous times but had a great time, all four hunters plan on hunting again next year. Guide Daniel and myself tagged cows for ourselves before leaving Utah too, I just finished processing my elk yesterday and have tried both steaks and burger, my elk is an excellent eater as was Daniel's, we had elk chile from his elk already too. The wife dropped off some meat at Egger's for Pepperoni and Sausage Links, can't wait to get that back!

We finished off the winter with a few bison hunts, we have one more bison hunter and the season is finished. First photo is a big 13 year old bull that we shot a few weeks ago, second photo is the last hunter and his meat animal taken last just week.

Guide Derrick got 121 coyotes last winter a year ago, this year he set out to beat that, him and his partner ended up with 241 coyotes. They killed from 3 to 9 yotes on every outing. Next year we will be offering Montana coyote hunts.
