Killer deer.

The funny part is you previously mentioned you are NOT a whitetail hunter.

Well you better make time to support next years NOTS.

Great animal and I'm glad to hear your observations about hunting whitetails. Makes my past frustrations seem worth it and not in vain!

Beauty of a buck!
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

Appreciate the kind words!!!

When I bought the tag, I wanted to make a point to share the experience with all.  Hopefully, future tag holders will do the same.

Any chance of getting a straight on pic? Awesome buck for sure.

These are as good as I have on the head.  Everything is at a slight angle.

I hadn’t seen him in person until I shot him.  I set up on the timber edge about 3:00 in a high traffic area.  At 4:06, a doe fed out and down the draw.  2 minutes later, he stepped out on her trail.  He was ultra alert, about 225 yards away.  I actually started shaking when I saw him, which hasn’t happened in a looooong time.  Made me smile as I lined him up and told myself to knock it off.  I was actually surprised that he was a slick 4.  I shot him pretty quick once I saw his body size/frame.

Dandy buck! Nice work!

Congrats on your awesome adventure. It is so rare to get to go on a hunt & have the woods to yourself & not have other hunters chasing the same critters.  Always look forward to reading about your hunts.
