Wild Pigs in Gifford Pinchot NF

Based on WDFW’s track record the best thing they could do is declare wild pigs a salmon or a game animal and start managing them as such.  The pigs would disappear in no time!

Maybe the pigs will wipe out the wolf population lol .

I'm just hoping if there are pigs on the loose, then they are either Berkshires or Mangalistas.

Wouldn't that be fabulous! I know a guy in So. OR who raises them. Nothing like it.

Lots of berks and other quality meat breeds around.  Remember, more difference pig to pig than breed to breed.  Just because it is a berk does not mean instant perfection.  And once they get loose they become something else in a few short generations.  Invasive destructive critters.

They become something else in a few short months. Domestic stocks' noses elongate and tusks start to grow. It's amazing what happens to them when released into the wild.

I know this post is old and all but i felt revival a bit necessary to bring up i found carcass of a pig and the skull and bonea of another about 150 yds apart and i was fairly deep in the timberland in gmu 388 i thought it was quite the random find way out there. It is cattle range land as well but i have nevr in my life seen a pig out there in all the years ive been hiking and hunting the area.

I'm just wondering when the official HuntWa wild pig roundup is going to be. 2019 is slipping away but isn't too late to launch a the first of what could be an annual event.

If you haven't yet, I would definitely contact the WDFW and/or USDA and let them know...
