Arctic fox travel trailers
« on: August 06, 2019, 07:55:15 AM »
Looking for input and wondering if these are good trailers?
I found a 2010 that they say is a 4 season trailer and wondering if anybody has any experience with these . The model is a Northwood arctic fox 27T
Thanks in advance

Very well built trailer, they are a bit on the heavy side though.

they are one of the best built trailers around imho. they do weigh more then the comparable sized superlights that are out now, but there is no question which will last longer if you compare both side by side.

I don't think you will have any issue using that trailer year round. I have friends who own a desert fox (toyhauler version of artic fox) and they are thrilled with it, and use it mostly year round. fact is I am looking to buy my own 28' desert fox here in the next couple months.

Arctic fox is among the top trailers, and trust me I looked at a lot of junk! Just couldn’t afford the Arctic Fox new.

Thank you for the input.
Looks like I'm going to go another route the weight is going to be pushing the limit of my ram 1500 and I don't want to be that guy on the side of the road that bit off more trailer than his truck could take.
I talked to the owner of sumner rv center and he said they have several other trailers that would work better

I would get it on a scale and check actual weight verses posted weight. Some of the older AF had water leak issues. I camped with a guy at a ski resort with one for years and he never froze up like many of the guys in 4 season trailers.

I am pulling a Jayco 264 BH (~5000lb) with my Ram 1500 for comparison.

There's no way I'd pull an AF that long with the guaranteed weight increase.  I have a tow capacity of 10,000lb but honestly you can feel the 5,000lb back there already.  I wouldn't want to go much more.

Get a good weight distribution system and keep it tight when you're going on the freeways.  I've had a much lower stress level when it's tight.  I just loosen it up when I get to the destination.
