Recomendations on air mattress
«
on:
August 11, 2019, 08:56:08 PM »
I have been using my Exped backpacking air mattresses for ever while car camping and decided I need something just a little more comfortable... Nothing huge just some better.. I still use a 2 man tent most of the time but I am a side sleeper and have been having a lot of hip pain.
Anyone using a pad close to what I am looking for?

I just use the coleman blow ups. Available at any box store that does "outdoor". They last probably no more than two years before they develope a leak. I usually rotate them about every year because I hate waking up to a flat mattress. 30 dollar range I suppose.

I use the cheap Intex felt top air mattress from Walmart. It's like $7-8 and mine has lasted three summers now. I go through the hip and shoulder pain from sleeping on my side also. I don't have any pain using this mattress.

I use two of the thick foam pads, or one pad and a memory foam topper when I camp in the truck or base tent. You can buy them at Fred Meyer, they last forever and you don't have to blow them up or patch holes.

Yes and no ... something I could put on the ponies if I wanted to but thicker than the exped mats... Intex are pretty damn comfy but way to big for what I want.

This is what I decided on and should be here next week... I'll report back after a sleep or two.
