A lot of variables for the date you NEED to be there. I’ve had them hot and bothered in one area, and 20 miles away they aren’t interested or talking at all yet. Get on google earth, look for areas where there may be wallows and scout them.

I'm not familiar with the NE at all besides some spring bear trips but I'd think glassing cuts and feed sources late in the year could be a worth while tactic as well :twocents:

Dave and I will be heading over to my place over there in Nov for the Whitetail hunt. If you dont have your elk down by then you can hunt my property. We usually have a few elk on it year round.

I'd get your moose and whitetail out of the way and then look for a bull elk after the snow fall hits good and gets them moving lower. Toward the end of your season. Maybe that's just me. Good luck!

I agree with Maverick. The big tag on this one is definitely the moose tag I would put most of my effort into that for sure. And secondary probably the Whitetail tag since you Have a great chance at finding a dandy Whitetail. Then maybe try and track the elk down but honestly if you don’t have private property to hunt on it is probably going to be just chance that you run into them. I would say if you fill that moose tag and are able to get a second deer in Washington with that Whitetail tag I would consider it  a success elk or not.

This.  If i had that package id be worrying about getting a nice moose and 2 big whitetail bucks.  If i had any time left over, then id worry about trying to knock down an elk, but if the elk part went unfilled i wouldnt be disappointed.  Also, moose can shed as early as november, and big mature whitetail bucks can shed mid december, well before christmas.  Elk will hold on to their headgear well past the dec 31st deadline.  Something to think about when deciding your priorities.

Congrats man. Get after and hopefully when you are done you can post up some details and pics of the hunts.  Don't get to specific about locations of course but a little about the hunts would be awesome.  Wishing you luck on filling the rest of the tags.

Elk was nothing exciting. Just a 2 point. I was just happy to finally find one. Like everyone said it was tough. Was just looking for a bull and finally found one. Now will be putting all effort towards moose. Not worried about the whitetail until thanksgiving. Appreciate the help. If anyone hears of a big boy hit me with a message. Thanks!

Don’t get me wrong. I’m very happy to get an elk. To be honest I really didn’t think I would fill that tag. Got lucky and am very thankful.
