How those broadheads shooting?
« on: August 12, 2019, 03:27:24 PM »
Well I went out today and shot my first round with broadheads (slicktricks).  Shot better than I could have asked for.  Touching arrows almost at 40 yards.  Didn't have to change a thing from field points.  Shot 20-50 yards.  Need a little more shot discipline at 50 but arrows are flying great.  How's everyone else shooting out there?

I just started checking. My Shuttle Ts were hitting about 4 inches lower than my field points at 20 yards. I moved the rest up some and the gap is closing. I will try to get them dialed this evening.

Looks like I have a couple more to re-fletch after slicing a few vanes off.

Shaving vanes out to 50, I’m real happy with my setup this year

Nothing worse than broadheads not flying good right before season.  I had minor issues last year, but this year they are dialed in.  Only difference is that I shot through paper getting bullet holes.  This year I never did a walk back tune and last year I did.  Either way two or three more shooting sessions and I will be confident.

Got out and shot broad heads and field points tonight. Made some minor adjustments and had them grouping together. Less than a month to go till elk opens!

They shot true to 60, no adjustments needed.  Still seem super sharp, but Mr. RadSav was nice enough to throw in extra blades so I had two to practice with

Either I'm oldschool or too cheap to upgrade to four blade/vane arrows, but my muzzy three blades are shooting great out to 30 yards. Anyone else use three blade/vane anymore?

Been shooting the Magnus Stingers out of my Darton for a while now.  They're flying like elk vitals heat seeking, clip the ear off a gnat, giving anything they hit a zero chance of survival, 100 grain missiles  ;)

Shot out to 70 today.  Three arrows in a four/five inch group.  Shot better at 70 than 60.  One last range trip for me and its on.
