No daughters (yet). And the youngest one is not even two yet, so I can't pull this one off for a couple of years. Now when the older one and I take off it is judged as "getting you and him out of the house and leaving me with the baby"...She's actually a pretty smart gal...
Agree with Dancer. Playing to the kids will usually work for awhile. You know, you buy some new camo for the son or daughter and ...of course for yourself. Kind of like....one for you, one for me, one for you, two for me... lol. It takes awhile before the better half catches up to this shell game. I think it's the maternal warm feeling they get watching your parental sensitivity coming out .....lol. Put everything into the child tense....and avoid even mentioning your getting any hunting satisfaction out of it at all. This technique tends to work well with both sexes, although with daughters it's the cat's meow!!!
I am seeing a lot more evidence of hunters scouting my area for turkeys than last year, the word must have gotten out that I had a flock or 2 to myself . Hey Pathfinder, I am going to be going after Razor Clams on the 25,26th, and 27th of April, maybe you could tempt her in letting you come out here for them and spend a little time looking for turkeys while you are out here and make the trip worth the gas.
