FHF Gear Bino Harness
« on: August 22, 2019, 04:24:59 PM »
I've had the FHF Gear Bino Harness for about three years now and use it on all my big game hunts. The male buckle just broke for the second time on the back connection strap and they are all sold out of male buckle replacements on their website. Has anyone else had this same issue with their fhf gear product and what would be another quality harness option?  :bash:

Alaska Guide.

Or, you can just buy generic buckles and fix yours.

Was looking at replacing the whole buckle with a generic one but the female clip is through a strap loop that is sewn into the side of the harness case. Emailed FHF and they got back to me and updated the website with more clips so I was able to put an order in. Thanks for the feedback, I'll look into the Alaskan Guide's.

I have the FHF harness and love it. I've had no issues with buckles, but did have some stitching start to unravel on the straps that cross behind your shoulder blades. Simple DIY repair. Mind you, I use the harness for work too, so it sees 150-200 field days a year and is now about 4 years old.

As compared to the other bino harness systems, I selected this one because it seemed less bulky and I like the idea of supporting a small time entrepreneur who is also a hunter. I don't believe there is a superior product to be had elsewhere.

Since you seem to be having issues particularly with the male buckles, consider doing an online bulk purchase next time you break one. I did this when I made a boat blind. If I recall correctly, there is a shop in Seattle that sells webbing, tent fabrics, etc...  that has a comprehensive assortment of buckles and such.

Good luck!
