Can you hide seeing posts from members?
« on: August 22, 2019, 08:03:29 PM »
On a few of the other forums I frequent I can block or ignore users so when reading through a thread, their posts won’t show up unless someone else quotes them. Is it possible to do here? I clicked around and didn’t see a way to do it.

Yes, its a great feature.  Just 2 names on mine and it made my H-W much better!
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

I have been viewing forums/boards since 1999. This is the first forum that I ever felt the need/want to Ignore another user. Just one. That said- it works great! It is like getting the internet back...

I can if it will make you feel better  :chuckle:
What will not happen ( and probably should not ) but would be entertaining is a list of people blocked listed by how many times  :)

I can't believe I waited so long to do this  :bash: It is amazing how blocking about three people cuts about 80% of new posts  :chuckle: Back to visiting a hunting website and not listing to the same crap you can listen to on TV. Great feature, thanks for making it an option

Good to know...I have never used the Tapatalk, probably won't now. I know part of it is self discipline...but the last 3+ months things have gone totally sideways here, but I do appreciate the work of our Mods...it is a thankless job. It's like the two old guys in the balcony on the Muppet Show.  ;)

You can also hide the few parts of the forum that contain 95% of the stuff many people don't want to see.

If you only want a hunting forum, you can put the whole "non-hunting etc" board on ignore if you want.

I do understand that...the political crap has reached an all time high. I respect people's need to vent and debate. I enjoy reading some of the other "non hunting" discussions. None the less, I think we are inundated with with negativity right now. I am only a simple bird hunter  :chuckle: but I love reading about the equipment, the chase and the harvest of all wildlife and of course the pictures. So it is what it is...I am enjoying the forum more now, for what it is worth. Carry on

Political Topics and Non-Hunting Topics are opt-in. Opt out to save yourself some grief. Go to your profile. Or, IIRC, instructions are up thread.

The only improvement I can see is being able to block specific threads. Often my  active thread list is filled with stuff I have no interest in. Think that could be an option?

Mods are great about moving stuff where it belongs, so by not looking at those categories it really helps if you don't want to see that stuff.

Oh I agree.  They do a good job. I don't want to block entire sections, and there stuff of interest in most of them. Some threads just get out of control and I can only physically ignore so much. Guess I'll have to work on that.
