Cabela’s not accepting bow returns
« on: August 24, 2019, 06:13:13 PM »
Bought a Diamond infinite edge pro package at Cabela’s on Thursday. After about 15 arrows through the bow, the bottom cam rotary stopper snapped in half, mid-draw. The store told me they no longer accept bow returns and the manager told me “we don’t do that you’re out of luck”. Diamond’s customer service is closed on the weekend but hopefully they can overnight that part to me before the start of bow season in about a week. Buyer beware.

Yeah, everything I buy there (next to nothing) I treat as such.

Sorry to hear that, hopefully the manufacturer will treat you right.

I would’ve surprised if they were in business in 12 months.

Cutting it close on buying and hunting with a new bow.

Good luck with the customer service
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

No bow returns is SOP at almost anywhere. Sportco has never accepted bow returns. They don’t know what’s been done to it or if it’s safe for the next customer. You have to go through the manufacturer. If you bought it through a bow shop they would contact them for you, diagnose what happened, and get it fixed. One of the perks of buying at a bow shop.

That being said as a diamond dealer they should have at least tried to order the part for you.

Bums...Bunch of price gouging morons those Cabela’s guys. Got a $25 gift certificate from somebody last Christmas;  what the heck could I buy with it there, a SlimJim up at the register?   :chuckle:

:yeah:
shops dont want to take back a bow that someone bought, walked outside with, dry fired, and tried to return.
not saying you did that, just saying thats part of the reason.
diamond should take care of you though.

You can’t return a bow for decent reason. You shouldn’t be surprised when a super cheap budget bows plastic stop breaks. Take it to a bowtech dealer they might have the part if not bowtech might send you one. Did cabelas register it?

They won't take returns because they have no way of knowing if you dropped it, dry fired, etc.
No offense to the OP, but that seems like a decent reason to me. Probably not what happened, but how would you feel if you bought a bow that ended up being returned and it turns out the guy before you dry fired it. You shoot it, it explodes and injures you or your kid or something? You'd sue the people you got it from.

I shot a Reflex for about 6 years. 3 weeks before archery opener, one of the limbs split right down the middle. Took it into Archery World and had a new Hoyt with an upgrade 3 days later. Always buy a bow through a bow shop.  And a good shop who reps Diamond might just take care of you for your future business.

Pro shops are worth it. Good customer service and support.

Maybe years ago, I'd have agreed with you. But the last decade, they've been mediocre at best. Their name brand goods went way downhill. I haven't shopped there except with gift cards from well-meaning friends, for years.
