2019 COHO REPORT
« on: August 24, 2019, 06:29:24 PM »
I am going to start a fall COHO report page,  we found a few up in sekiu 2 weeks ago fishing for kings, I think it's going to be unreal fishing the next month plus.  I am headed up to Sekiu for 4 days in mid September and will be hitting the Quilicene bay coho the next week as they are starting to show.

Fish lady at Everett launch saw a few...literally only 2 or 3. Said one was a perfect 8 or 9 lber or so.

We did ok last Tuesday out of shilshole got 2 limits and lost 3 at the boat. The hot rod (only rod that was hooking up) was using a deep 6, purple haze dodger with a all silver coho killer ranging from 90-115 on the reel counter. Both downriggers got nothing but shakers all day.

Neah bay fishing is ridiculously good. We have been getting 12 keepers each day in a few hours fishing. Head out at 5:30 am back to the dock by 10 am, rinse repeat.

Were those resident or sea run fish?

I’m fairly new to saltwater fishing, how would I tell?

We fished The lower Columbia on Saturday. We caught 5 clipped silvers for 4 of us. Released one unclipped silver and 4 chinook.

Sea lice is a dead giveaway.  Resident fish don't have sea lice.  And of course ocean fish are bigger
