Range finder and bow hunting?
« on: September 04, 2019, 07:29:45 AM »
What’s your guys favorite way to carry your range finder while bow hunting?
I’ve got built in Leica binoc range finders, but I still wanna carry my hand held for up close and minimal movement ranging.

I have the AGC bino case and it sits in the front pocket on a bungee.  I can drop it and let it dangle or slide it back into the pocket.

Same setup. Works great!

I loop the cord thru a strap on my pack’s shoulder straps to ensure it stays with me. Has enough length for securing it to my waist belt withe the clip on the rangefinder (vortex). Can also fit in my front pocket. Used to carry it in the belt pocket, but removed that to put a holster on the right side.
Can also let it dangle if necessary.

I’ve passed on the whole front pack thing. Just don’t want more bulk up front. Binos carry just fine without it and I’ve never had a problem getting a wind checker from a front pocket.

same with me but I just use the string loop on my rangefinder and run that through the little piece of rope on the zipper of my agc pouch. Plenty long to get up to my eye and won't hit the ground if I drop it or it falls out

I have a zipper pocket attached to the belt on my pack that was probably designed for one. I have a leupold that fits perfectly. I leave the zipper open so all I have to do is reach down and grab it.

I just bought a new badlands bino harness and didn’t really think of an option for a hand held range finder since I have my Leica pair. But that was more of rifle thinking instead of archery. I was thinking something that might attach to my pack strap

Waist belt zippered pockets on Badlands 2200 - rangefinder in the right, gps in the left.  If I'm not carrying the pack I loop the lanyard on the rangefinder through the button hole on my shirt chest pocket flap and the rangefinder in the pocket.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.
