Spokane Bass Fishing
« on: August 26, 2019, 12:01:46 PM »
Just moved to Spokane area while I go to school. Having a hard time finding some small lakes/ponds to bass fish with public access. Broke college student lifestyle limits me to fishing from shoreline or in a small 10ft fishing raft. Not looking for someone’s honey hole by any means. Didn’t realize how many of the ponds and lakes here are land locked by residential areas or private property... any help is appreciated!

North of you is loon lake. Had some fun times fishing there!

Do you have a motor for your 10' raft? If so, there are plenty of lakes around here that you can easily fish for some nice bass. You usually don't even have to venture too far from the launch to get on some nice fish at Newman. Loon Lake, Eloika before it gets choked out with milfoil, Clear Lake, Silver Lake and Liberty all have nice fish in them.

The Spokane River from Stateline to Sullivan is full of smallies...easy access from the Centennial trail.  I am a trout snob but my kid catches them all summer long in that stretch  Nothing huge

Sprague Lake has a good population of large mouths with shore and small boat access at the WDFW Public Access.

North of you are lakes almost too numerous to mention and the ones to the South! Pend Orielle County is full of lakes and very underfished for bass imo!

Just off the top of my head:
Loon
Deer
Jump Off Joe
Sacheen
Waitts
Newman
Eloika
Diamond

Minimal bank access is widespread, is what it is. Have raft, will fish though!! Stick to some of the smaller lakes to avoid skiers and the like but if I could move over there I would in a second, that's how good the fishing is around you!! In fact, that's my target area for my upcoming birthday trip the end of September

Silver Lake in Cheney has decent shore access along the road (see below) and from the dock at the boat ramp. Plus, it is full of bass.

Little bit of a drive but Banks Lake and in particular Osborn Bay Lake right next to Electric City, really good bass fishing from the shore or a little raft.  Make sure you wear tick repellent if you fish from shore and watch out for rattlesnakes.
