Sweet. Safe travels and happy hunting!  I’m headed out Thursday morning. Time to fill the freezer.

Anybody have any reports from idaho?? My buddy and I are headed over to chase some screamers Saturday    :rockin:
My Brother in Law says they are on fire in the Priest Lake area that he controls.

That has not been my experience, or any of the guys I'm hunting with up here this year.  I have heard two bugles from a bull that we crowded, but that's it.  They're definitely not on fire here.

kinda cool but kinda sucks I work across the street from Hancock in Buckley and every morning at 530 I can hear them going nuts.  Biggest one yet is a very tall but narrow 5 pt.  the big buys haven't come down yet to get the cows  They usually show up around the 17th.

He has the advantage then.  I've been here since last Friday and have heard two bugles....

What's his job?

I have a buddy in central Idaho.
10 miles in to camp, no other hunters around.
Seeing a ton of elk and a lot of bulls.
No rut action.
Kinda weird.

He has lived in the area his entire life.  He is high up in DNR for that region.

Not hearing a bunch of favorable reports from NE Washington yet.  Anyone seeing much activity?  I've only seen one picture of an archery kill up here this season....?

East slope elk are lightin' it up.  I rifle hunt, so I need all you archery folks to kill some bulls and post photos so I can live vicariously though you  :chuckle:

Last two bulls I spotted were with cows. I got one to chuckle that's all I have heard all season.

Ive had bulls bugling every day since opener on the West side. Rutting is hit or miss. Some bulls are a little hotter than others
