Sights for CVA Accura V2
« on: September 05, 2019, 04:05:24 PM »
I have a CVA Accura V2 and was looking into putting a rear peep sight (https://williamsgunsight.com/product/williams-wgrs-cva-oct/) and front globe sight (https://williamsgunsight.com/product/williams-target-globe-front-sight-with-inserts-less-attaching-base/) onto my rifle. My first question is hole for the factory rear sight is a smaller hole than the holes further back (which I assume are for a rail). I want to put the rear peep sight further back and into the hole furthest back. Is the screw that comes with the rear sight linked above larger than the one that comes with my factory rear sight, or am I going to need a rail to put the rear sight onto? My second question is after installing the rear sight am going to need a hoodless ramp for the front globe sight. Which height of ramp (https://williamsgunsight.com/product/williams-streamlined-screw-on-hoodless-ramp/) should I get 3/16", 3/8", 5/16", 7/16" or 9/16"?

I did this setup on mine: https://www.gohunt.com/read/skills/increased-accuracy-from-an-open-sight-muzzleloader#gs.18xgm5

Except I used the Peeprib.  The Peeprib has what appears to be the same Williams sight (or an exact knockoff of it) as part of it.

I used Marble front dovetail mount, 0.1" height, to fit 0.875" barrel size for the CVA.  Lyman front globe, and Lee Shaver insert the crosshairs one.  I painted the crosshairs with Glow-On gunsight paint, and that really helps in low light visibility (for early morning hours, charge it with a headlamp beam for a bit).
