Old Dog with the First Hunt Foundation and his dog, Jasmine, are looking for a couple of youth for the upcoming youth hunt at Scatter Creek. We'll meet up in the parking lot at 0730, and get the introductions and a brief safety meeting out of the way, so we can start hunting at 0800 when it opens. You need your shotgun, ammo, hunter orange, and you hunter education certificate.

I talked with Aaron Garcia about the mentored hunts available, and everything is on the east side with plenty of help. I figured something on the west side was in order.
C'mon kids! Tell your folks I'm legit. I even have insurance!

@Old Dog
Have you already filled your spots for this? If not, I have a 12 year old that would love to take advantage of your gracious offer.

You are the first! Does you 12 year old have any shooting experience? There is still time to meet at Tacoma Sportsman's Club for some practice. I'll PM my contact info, and we can nail this down.

I just wanted to publicly thank @Old Dog for my son's wonderful experience. After posting to this thread, @Old Dog reached out via PM and we discussed my son and his possible hunt. He is a great guy and wants to ensure the young hunter has the best experience possible. We met on Saturday morning and @Old Dog had both Jasmine and Ollie with him. Ollie was a surprise, as he wasn't supposed to be home from his handlers/trainers but lucky us, he was. We were able to hunt with both Jasmine and Ollie and my son was fortunate enough to harvest his birds. Not only did he get to harvest his birds, he got to watch some good dog work, gain an understanding of how upland bird hunting with dogs works and he also learned it isn't only Dad that is concerned about gun safety. Additionally, @Old Dog brought my son a hat from the First Hunt Foundation and I don't think he has taken it off since Saturday morning.
If any of you ever have a youth that you would like to have a wonderful and safe upland bird experience, I can't say enough good things about @Old Dog and his pointing labs.
Thank you again @Old Dog!!
