Salmon recipes
« on: September 03, 2019, 08:18:28 AM »
There are tons of fish being brought home and I'm always looking for ways to change it up.  Our family has been crushing deep fried salmon & chips, we use store bought tempura batter.  Nothing fancy, but they turn out excellent and are a good break from baked or bbq.

For storage, I have been canning and smoking.  I love canned salmon in the winter for seafood stew as well as cioppino.

Post your recipes below so we can better enjoy the bounty.  Most of the online recipes are boring baked varieties, I'm sure the community here has better ideas.

Take salmon filet, skin off, boil till done set aside to cool. In a bowl mic swet onion, celery,  diced of course....mayo, stone ground mustard,  some relish, salt, garlic.  Mix well, crumble fish pulling out bones as you go. Mix to a tuna salad like texture. Serve with basic ritz crackers.

Fancy it up.....take said salmon salad, serve inside butter leaf lettuce with a slice of avocado and if so desired a shot of your go to hot sauce.

My family really likes smoked salmon Alfredo pasta - use your favorite Alfredo sauce recipe and crumble smoked salmon in the sauce or over the top when serving
I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies

In November U.S. manufacturing contracted for the the ninth consecutive month. Layoffs across the economy are higher than anytime since the pandemic in 2020 and I just read that the Midwest farmers will be receiving a 12B bailout due to 50 year trade relationships being destroyed. I have to admit that I was a sceptic and didn't believe in the effectiveness in tariffs but I'm a believer now.

This is good.  Do not cook it at all in the sauce.  It completely falls apart.

Salmon cakes. You can swap the crab out for salmon in most crab cake recipes.

https://cafedelites.com/creamy-garlic-butter-tuscan-salmon/

My wife has done a couple different variations of this one lately and it is unreal! Kind of a spammy website but dang it’s good! She says she has done it with and without the wine and she thinks we liked without better.
