I'm sorry to say that this will lead to the demise of that bull in addition to several others who get knocked down while road hunters are looking for him.  I always has confused me how a people who preach the sanctity and honor of wildlife and the right to harvest them, go on to claim native hunting rights over a non native species in non traditional hunting grounds.  And then how do they honor the sacrafice of their brother the elk/deer, by make jerky and sell commercially.  And corrrect me if I'm wrong, isn't the Arther Coffin Game Reserve supposed to be off limits to all hunting?  Seems to be several stories of witnessed bulls coming out of the reserve.  WTH?  Sorry, very frustrating to be out bow hunting and have someone driving around with Rifle slaying big bulls from the road.

Just another in a long list of areas

Margaret
Acme/Skagit
Wynoochee
Clearwater/Hoh

Great elk areas of the past
Decimated by uncontrolled sustenance hunting

Some are slowly coming back thanks to extensive gated  areas
Perhaps the colockum needs the same

:yeah: :yeah: :yeah:  we have a petition going on Facebook about this subject.  As long as we don’t get rude, racist, or demeaning, this post should stay unlocked!!!!!   18 bulls in one day by the natives off the reserve, sign the petition to help draw attention to this BS!  This isn’t about tribal rights, it has nothing to do with the treaty. Private property was donated to the state in agreement that no one could hunt on the property. It is frowned upon even by the tribe and those members that have respect don’t hunt there. But a few bad apples that have a chip on their shoulder do. Let’s gets as many signatures as possible.

From what I’ve been told by a very reliable source, hunting on the Colockum game reserve is legal for Yakama tribal members. Legal, but frowned upon were the words used.

Those are the words they use for everything. Bottom line is they can basically break any game  law they want and all our game officers can do is refer charges to the tribal  courts. And you must be hitting their piece pipe  if you think that their brother-in-law is  gonna press charges against them. I have talked to many game wardens who get very frustrated when they recieve credible leads to poaching cases just to find out they ended up being tribal and no charges are ever perused. Like I Have said before the respectable members really should speak out against these “bad apples”. There is a reason I hate white trash tweakers more than anyone, because they make me look bad.  I would feel the same if I were Native American about these poachers who make everyone assume that’s how they all are.

I won’t discredit or insult the guy I talked to. You feel free to say what you want.  No peace pipe sharing going on here either.
