His plan was to use the road to drive into the meadow if we shot an animal which ran downhill, which they always do. There would've been no way to bring it back up the hillside without a winch. I left. Hunters who are younger and healthier than I who had walked down that two miles of road to hunt this incredible meadow would have been ticked off to see someone drive down it and I would've been, too. Until there's a rule saying that it's OK to take in a vehicle to retrieve and animal on a closed road, I'm not doing it. It's not right. It's not ethical. And it's not legal. Call me a crybaby or a Boy Scout (I guess it's just Scout now), but there you go.instead of an atv, use an ebike and a cart to get that game out

I think it boils down to if the lands were managed better and in the peoples interest there would be less animosity and more cooperation and respect. Its just silly now. I see things weird maybe, for example, some write plates down and call in offenses. Why? Its against the rules. Or is it because they hiked in and someone else rode. Thus its unfair and they are mad. But they will say they are good law abiding citizen and just doing right thing. IF the gate wasn't there or if it was legal to go around gate on atv like other places what would the reason be? Find another hunt area? Still mad Bro? So the real question is WHY is the gate there? WHy is it closed or open? WHy can some ignore it legally and the rest of us get a ticket? Why do people turn in others for pts?? I think its because they are selfish righteous adults hiding behind the "against the rules" argument. Stop and tell the offender your opinion, Man up. That's what I do. I would call in a poacher or criminal activity for sure but the accidental trespass or accidental 2pt shot or atv in closed area I am inclined to mind my own and let them sort out their mess. Like I said I aint normal in this new world of tattletales and whiners. I believe the new way is the wrong way and the old ways are almost always better...

Seems like when the people on atv's and sxs's get to get on a legal road they seem to wonder off the road and make their own roads/trails into the woods or somewhere else. They just can't stand to stay on the road. Why is that? I own an atv and when I use it I have no problem staying on a green dot road or any other road. There's usually signs up that say "stay on the road". Some people never learned how to read I guess.

Allow the public to access and use the lands, or don't, but no more special interest political garbage. No more outdoorsman turning against outdoorsman just to support their specific interests while discounting others. It is selfish, immoral and just stupid. imop. I support ya all however you choose to spend time in outdoors.
How many gates were closed in 1980? How many are up and closed now? How many folks were tooting along on Hondas and jeeps in 1975? Your Dad or Gramps maybe? Now what do ya think your children will be doing in 30 years? Yup. NOTHING, and whos fault is that?
