Isn't that the one up the rattlesnake? There's a small cabin up there too.

Sure you werent on private land by mistake?  Sure hard to imagine somebody doing something like that on public.

Unit 356, FS land, he also found 2 other tree stands that looked to not have been used in awhile.

I'm thinking they have a ladder stashed close by. Wood looks new, also it's overlooking a water hole. Can't see them hiking in carrying a ladder.

Well camouflaged! I can barely see it.

Funny you  say that, son and friend were up at a higher elevation and could look down and see it without binos. They were a mile as the crow flies from it. :yike:

This below is from the last page of that link to the tree stand topic back in 2017. Guess the Ranger forgot to come back and cut it down lol

USFS drove and stopped by my friends camp. Ranger talked about giving out tickets to those ATV-ing into the 1502 closed road area, down the road quite a ways from Timberwolf turnoff.
Friend mentioned the treestand. USFS ranger asked him to show the location. They went and USFS logged coordinates via GPS. Back at USFS vehicle, got on his computer and made an official report.
USFS enforcement will monitor this site during muzzle and modern seasons, hoping to catch user.
but the stand will come down, at the hands of the ranger personally (chain saw).

YES, ranger verified it is illegal to build and permanent stand on national forest lands, open to the public. And if caught using a permanent stand, a hefty fine too.

But someone claimed that area to hunt look at all the hard work and time they’ve put into it.

Too bad people Cant mind their own business, nice set up.  Could have been built to help an elder person still enjoy hunting. Everyone wants a trophy, wouldn’t have hurt anyone to leave it alone.

Maybe the USFS discovered the stand grew there naturally so they didn't need to cut it down. I mean just look at the authentic natural coloring and foliage.

Last time me and a buddy found one illegally on public land we had a ball.  Wasted a box or more of 12 gauge ammo but it was shot down.
Look man, some times you just gotta roll the dice

I've found a spot that's got at least three stands like that and larger.  A local log buyer put them up and cut in some shooting lanes, including fir trees.  He then charges by the 1/2 day for access.  It's on some Manke Lumber land, so I've no idea if the company knows the tree cutting damage he's doing to line his own pockets.
You'll never get a Big'un if you keep shooting Little'un's.

So, if it is an illegal build on public land, isn’t it everyone’s business?
