Looks like rough opening weekend conditions.
« on: October 10, 2019, 10:11:11 AM »
So my schedule only lets me get Friday-Tuesday off.  Clear weather, full moon and opening weekend probably not ideal.  Temps look like lows in the 20s and 50 during the day.  Im expecting to see quite a few others where I’m headed. Think ill try and get as far in as i can early saturday and hope that something gets pushed to me.  Spend a day at a glassing spot and still hunt some new ground another.  If i can find a spot for a ground blind Friday i can sit that Monday or Tuesday.  Any last minute tips for less than ideal conditions up in the NE.
I have read a bright night might extend mid day activity  because morning feeding time might slow down.  Maybe just looking for a silver lining.
Either way I’m just glad to be getting out.  Good luck to everyone and stay safe

I'll be stuck at work, so your conditions are better than mine.  Good luck.

I love hunting in cold conditions like this.  Young bucks are feeling frisky, unstable weather has deer up and moving.   Should be great.  Blue bird weather normally sucks, but when it’s this cold, not so bad.  Unless of course you are thinking blacktails.

Just watch those buckskin limbs.  Slicker than greased owl *censored* in the dark.

The morning sun has the ability to bring out some animals from the thickets to the edges of morning exposed clear cuts. I'm not much of a fan of summer time weather for hunting either.  Having said that, I'm still too sick to go walking up the hills, so enjoy your time in the field rain or shine! It's better than being stuck at home wishing you could get out there.
You'll never get a Big'un if you keep shooting Little'un's.

Ah that's a bummer hope you get better soon. A few years ago I missed most of archery because of ankle surgery and then did muzzleloader in a boot but got my buck.

Nice being able to build a fire in the cabin.  Now if I could get the water pipes thawed.  Gonna switch weapons and hunt.

I've decided to go after waterfowl tomorrow morning instead of deer.  Have a good pond on private property that's holding a lot of birds.  Once the morning is done, I'll drive the 2 hours to my deer area and drive the roads collecting firewood.  Went there yesterday to collect my cams(which someone though would be good to delete 8 days of pictures from) and had to cut through about a dozen downed trees across roads due to the past couple storms.  Maybe get luck a see a deer.
Right wing shooter, I aim for the left!!!

Nowhere in your incoherent rambling did you come close to what can be considered a rational thought. Everyone is now dumber having heard it. I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul.

That sounds like a Great Plan.
I've got a new lab pup that keeps looking at me like, "Get out of that house and let's do our retriever drills!"
