Waterfowl Taxidermist
« on: October 16, 2019, 07:50:40 PM »
I have a pair of wood ducks that I would like to have mounted. I searched this board and it seems everyone recommends Leon Mathews or Willow Creek Taxidermy. The problem is Leon’s Facebook says he is preparing for retirement and only accepting select birds. And last time I checked WCT is no longer in business. So, I’m not sure who to go to. I’d like to stay semi local (Spokane), but I am not completely opposed to shipping them somewhere or driving a reasonable distance. Who have you used and who do you recommend? Thanks!

Seth Lane @ Lane Wildlife Artistry.  Outside of Leon - the best on the eastside, the two are also very close.

Awesome, thank you! I was looking at random taxidermists galleries and found Cheri’s taxidermy in Priest River, Idaho. I am no expert at judging good taxidermy, but it appears she does good work. Any experience or opinions on her work? Here’s the gallery if anyone wants to look and give an opinion. Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the input! I’m planning on calling the gal in priest river and will probably have her do the mount. I’ll keep the post updated and hopefully share some pictures down the road. Thanks again.

Pat at Northwest Wings is one of the best bird taxidermists in the US.  He's done a couple for me, top notch work.

Ship them to Carter Taxidermy in Great Falls.  When it comes to birds he is truly an artist.  At the least check out his web page.
