407 and 418
« on: October 21, 2019, 06:23:39 AM »
Good morning to the hunters- Just wondering if any of you saw or got anything on 407-418 last week??. I hunted most of the week in those 2 units and had 0 luck. The weather so miserable when you talk about the rain.... :bash:

Morning, I hunt 407,  I think we are in the early stages of the rut.  I have been seeing plenty of does and a couple decent bucks.  Some with thick necks.  I do hunt private land tho.  This week should be a good one.  Wondering what the clear weather is gonna do. Good luck

I think you are right. the rut is early this year. the bucks in bellingham are already chasing the does. I have pictures from my son-- he saw those bucks today on the chase.

You are fortunate to hunt in private land- more power to you man.

I saw a 4x3 in bham with 6 does yesterday.  The town deer always seem to rut a little bit sooner.

Deer have been very active this last week. Haven’t seen any toads.

I hunt 407 every year. I used to encounter a guy named Howard and I am wondering if anyone knows if he still around? Howard is the replica of grizzly Adams,  except he is always riding an all retain vehicle and smoking and hunting in the rain. last year i did not see him and this year either. just curious if anyone has come across him or knows him.
