? What?  Did some one set it down to take a dump, then your son picked it up before they came back? That would be terrible but kinda funny.  OR did they have a miss and threw it on the ground...” I’m done with this bow!” And left it laying there?

Joking aside, how does someone lose their bow while hunting?

Ya...wouldn’t you find out as soon as you got home or to the next spot and go back to get it?

From what I understand, he thinks that it might have bounced out of the back of a UTV or something and landed in a way that it was almost completely covered with snow and it was several feet off of the road/trail.  He says he waited around for a while hoping someone would come back for it, debated leaving it but then decided to bring it back to the house so that I could post it in the lost and found on both HuntWA and Craigslist.

Yep, either that or put it on the roof and drove off, so that it bounced off of the road.  I did that with a bow but it only scratched the finish a bit as it bounced on the pavement.

You would not believe how many times with how many items I have put something on the roof and driven off, and more often, put it down beside the vehicle and driven off.

I have an iron rule now that ANYTHING I take off or put down before putting it in the vehicle goes on the hood or windshield.  No exceptions. Cup of coffee? On the hood.  GPS?  On the windshield.  Rifle, fly rod, daypack, jacket...?  On the hood.
