PRESERVING AN OLD BOW AND ARROW
« on: November 04, 2019, 07:24:56 PM »
About 4 years ago I was given a bow; 1 arrow and a half dozen dried clay balls that are as hard as rocks. The son of friend bought them at an estate sale. The information given to him by the grand-kids was that both of their grandparents where archaeologist and that all 3 items mentioned above came from South America in the early 1950's.

I have done a little research on them, but my main concern is how to preserve the bow; bow sting and arrow without damaging them.

The feathers on the arrow are coming unraveled and the bow string is quite unusual as it can shoot both the arrow and the hardened clay balls.

Any suggestion or suggestions on who to contact regarding this is appreciated.

Thanks

Try contacting Ted at Raptor Archery in Oregon. He runs a traditional only shop and has a lot of knowledge about primal bows.
