Need help finding a good pheasant release site.
« on: October 30, 2019, 09:44:09 PM »
Hello I just recently moved to eastern Washington near Silverdale. Last weekend I went out to the pheasant release site in mason county. I thought the terrain was rough. Just a bunch of cut timber and no actually fields. Anyways I’m trying to find a pheasant release site that actually has normal brush fields. Thanks in advance for any information.

Isn't Silverdale in western Washington?
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

You might want to look at the hunting regulations to see if Scatter Creek is still doing releases.  Several large open areas and probably only about an hour south of Silverdale.

If you are going to make the trek East I would suggest the crab creek release site. There are wild quail and tons of open space. Post up some pics and have fun!!

Yeah I’m wrong, it’s western Washington. I don’t know why I kept thinking eastern. But thank you for the info

No problem Buddy!
I've heard that the Fort Lewis pheasant hunt can be fun.

Fort Lewis has fields, Scatter Creek has fields, Skookumchuck if they still release had some great fields (I remember chasing elk out of them before the hunt a couple weekends). Local to Silverdale all you get is clear cuts that were not cleaned up. Sequim used to have a decent release area that was not all sticks, stumps, and logs too. I have not hunted a release site in several years, so my intel may be out dated. Good luck!
