E. Okanagon any Whitetail Nov. 1-20.
« on: November 02, 2019, 03:13:51 PM »
I drew this tag with a buddy. We are staying up at Lake Bonapart. We plan on hunting both scotch creek game reserves, Tung and Chesaw. Also, will hunt around buckhorn mountain. Only can hunt next Friday to Tuesday. Then the last 2 days if needed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Rb1, great tag! You guys should have a great hunt. Be patient with the responses on here, you waited until your tag started to ask for intel, most of the guys you really want to respond are out for the weekend doing something in the outdoors. I bet you get more assistance.

For me hunt that Scotch creek area hard! I hope a couple of the guys who were in there earlier this year will respond to you, but I know there were plenty of bucks in there during modern and a couple nice ones! I would say pull out all the stops, you listed some good areas, bring doe in heat scent, grunt tube, rattling tools, all of it. The whitetails I saw this weekend had no bucks with them, but will very soon. Best of luck to you and your buddy!!

Sounds good. There are 3 scotch creek areas inside 204. Chesaw, Tunk and Eder. Going to hit Tunk Friday on the way in, then Chesaw Saturday or Sunday. Hoping we can figure those areas out quicker than the areas around lake bonapart.

Don't overlook those timbered areas around Republic, there are some tremendous whitetails that show up this time of year.

His tag is only good for 204 not 101
But yes there are a few good whiteys around Republic

Yeah the boundry is there, most people when talking about hunting around Republic are in 101, but yes you can be in 204 near republic hunting whitetails....not where i would hunt though  :twocents:     Tomato Tomoto......
Either way lets hear how this hunt went..

Alright!!! We scouted the middle weekend and the muleys were rutting hard! So we went all in on the last three days for whitetails. Keep in mind all we know is how to hunt for muleys. Spot and stalk. I tried rattlin’, doe calls and grunt calls. All I managed to do was occasionally stop them. The whitetails were rutting hard and we found a great buck on Monday morning. We tried to kill him for 2 days and blew him out twice without a shot. The second time he winded us, and we never seen him again. On the last day we both tagged out on a couple 2 1/2 year old 4x4 bucks. Super fun hunt. Ofcourse we would have killed a couple awesome muleys if we had a quality tag. 🤷🏻‍♂️Whitetails  are a lot harder to kill than I thought they would be. I now have a lot more respect for those guys who kill the big ones. Thanks for all the help.
