Hey all this is all just fun and games. I don't mean to piss any body off. I will do what I will do and it does not matter what anybody advises otherwise. That is just the monster inside of me.

I love to hunt Elk with my bow and I will take every possible advantage that is available. This year that just so happens to be the XLR8. Don't try to convince me otherwise it will not work.

Now just be satisfied that you have tried to convice me that I do not need the Monster at 80 lbs. I am getting it and there is nothing you can do to stop it, well other than cut my arms off. :chuckle: :chuckle:

Well Hoyt considering that you have had the honor of only shooting one elk it seems that you are sticking you uneducated head somewhere it does not belong.

Oh here it comes...........................What a ding bat............................. :chuckle: :chuckle:

your right, only had the honor of one elk so far on my only real elk hunt I have done.... shot him within 6 hours.. Id say I did OK, deer on the other hand I have had the honor to shoot a few.. either way shot placement is key, doesnt matter what animal... all im saying is with groups that good the shoulder should never have been a issue.......

Im also curious to how that I have only shot 1 bull makes me uneducated on shot placement of the size of a animals shoulder bone structure? the measure of success is not always in how many you kill.....

So what you are saying then is you are a calm cool cat regardless and you make a perfect shot 100% of the time. You are patting yourself on the back a little to much. If you want a little respect then you are going to, at some point in time, admit that you are not perfect.

Chuck Adams will even admit that he has made bad shots, are you better than him?

everyone makes a bad shot, I have as well, just not on a target quite that size.. the one bull I killed I made sure to aim a few inches back from the shoulder to make sure I did not hit it, the lungs/liver are quite a large target to hit and from where I aim id really have to push a shot really bad to hit the shoulder.. and that has not happend yet. could it? sure anything COULD happen..... all im saying is since your that good with a bow then shooting behind the shoulder on a very large animal should be a walk in the park, even with a "bad" shot.. you have killed way more elk then me, kudos for that, I have had lots of chances are all the cards did not quite line up for me.... thats bowhunting.. when I get a shot, I make the shot, I can thank that to shooting 500+ arrows a week all year long

Well why not should be the question. Are any of you willing say that Howard Hill should not have killed those three Elephants with his 115 lb long bow. Are you?

Where is the limit? Is the limit what you make it or what some archery organization makes it. I MAKE MY OWN LIMITS PERIOD. So you can take your AMO, IBO bla bla bla rules and shove them up your stink hole. I DO NOT CARE ABOUT SOME STUPID ORGANIZATION THAT LIMITS MY ABILITIES. You will never stop me from utilizing my abilities.

Well that is pretty much like taking the new diesel race cars and limiting them to make it fair for all the inefficient gas guzzling cars they are competing against. What a bunch of bull crap!!!!

New technology always gets beat down. It usually takes years for people to finally realise that it actually was better.

Remember the TUCKER. The car that was way ahead of it's time. They got shut down now look at the pathetic american auto industry.

Well I am Way ahead of all you followers. You keep following the regular old crap an I will keep jumping ahead.

That is because you have not shot at 14 elk. And you really are full of yourself. When you have been in the company of as many elk as I have then I might listen but...........................................Nope I am not listening this time. You have a few years before I will reaspect what you say about hunting Elk.

It has nothing to do with how many elk I have shot at, shooting in a shoot off style comp is 10 x's the nerves and pressure of hunting and the "moment of truth".. its not even close.. but as you said you are not a target shooter, just a hunter so you have no CLUE what im talking about, and I have had big bulls scream in my face at under 15yrds.... so I may not have killed as many as you, but I have been in close and had the nerves and seen huge bulls. again its not even on the same level as having people watch you and shooting side by side arrow for arrow against your oponent when $$ is on the line.. ask any good target shooter/bowhunter and they will back that up....... so combine shooting year round at a high level, knowing and learning from some of the best shooters in the country and shooting 1000's of arrows a year. that is why I make my shots count on animals......
