Late Season Modern Blacktail 2019
« on: November 05, 2019, 05:34:07 PM »
Ok, some of us  didn’t notch our BT tags in early season. Who’s hitting the woods in the upcoming late rifle season?  I’ll be out for at least 3 days (God willing and the creeks don’t rise).

I blew it on Halloween.  My son, jakeland, and my self would have had a Halloween hat trick, but my gun decided to mess it up. :chuckle:
I'll be out on the late hunt. They don't have one in my area, so I'll be hunting a place I'm vaguely familiar with.

Well hopefully you will put one on the ground.

That’s a dandy buck flyfish!  They’re certainly sniffing around. I get some smaller bucks on a cam below my house almost nightly; they’re definitely on the prowl.

I'm all in. Hopefully starting Thursday and all 4 days if I can swing it.

Went down to 506 today for a look around.  Jumped a pair of unknowns.  Later, saw a doe with a fawn and another by herself bedded on a knob.  Many new rubs and the trails are torn up everywhere, but I couldn't manage to put my eyes on a buck.  Seemed slow and quiet.

I'll be out there. The action was just starting to pick up the last few days of the general where I was at.  I've hunted at least 20 days so far between the high and the general.  Have seen four or five legal, but nothing big enough. Already have one in the freezer from my son, so wasn't in a hurry.
Everyone lives off the land.  Some of us simply have more fun doing it.

Have three days blocked off and looking for somewhere to set the camper up at. Might go explore somewhere in SW but so confused by what is and isn't "public" land these days...

Nice three point with decent tunes on side you can’t see well. Curious to see what he looks like next year. Sorry about poor picture.

Looks like the weather is shaping up to be good for the late BT season. Hope the forecast doesn't change
