Oregon Bears
« on: November 06, 2019, 09:11:27 AM »
My sisters friend sent a trail cam pic of these bears.
I think it's a sow & boar. I though once breeding was over they went there separate ways.
I also thought they bred in late august or early September.
Is this a pair of lovebirds just chillin until the snow flies?
That boar has a really pretty chocolate coat, and a big noggin!

They breed in June, and they do usually stay separate. She may be tolerating his presence since she doesn't have cubs? I'm no expert at field judging bears by any means. Like probably the exact opposite of that, but maybe it's possible that's a big ol' sow and an older cub hanging together still?
I hunt, therefore I am.... I fish, therefore I lie.

Cool pic!  Yeah, the bigger one sure looks like a sow to me, narrow muzzle and a larger back end compared to the shoulders.

Some more bear pix from Oregon.
I think the first is the big chocolate, and some shenanigans between a pair.
