Reloading Sub Sonic in 300 Blackout?

Finally bit the bullet and got a 300 blackout upper.  I will be loading subsonic and shooting it suppressed.  What bullets and powder you all like.

AA 1680 reliably cycles subsonic 200 +/- grain projectiles in an AR platform.    If you are shooting subs out of a bolt action or single shot and don't need gas generation, there are other choices that are quieter.

Yep, 1680, don't waste your time and money with anything else if you are shooting an AR.  H110 will work but it isn't as consistent and it is louder.  Lilgun is too erratic.

Lots of good feedback in there from the collective.  Once elk season is over i plan to continue experimenting with powders

Did not read all 5 pages so this may have been covered but most heavy match type bullets will not expand and just poke a hole. For the small number of shots on game you will take I would buy a premium expanding bullet. I developed a load for the Lehigh 194 Max expansion. Have not used on game but looks mean in gel.

The small buck I shot dropped like a sack of flour at 85 yards to the LeHigh ME.

Not sure I will be hunting with mine.....but still need a good bullet for the extremely rare chance it is ever needed for self / home defense.  I will also make a range load with cheaper rounds to bang steel with.

220 gr nosler  Ballistic Tip over 11 grs of CFE blackout standard OAL,  running 1000 fps out of my ruger and my AR  and the best  accuracy of anything I've shot

for cheap range fodder checkout leatherhead projectiles.  poly coated lead about as cheap at you can get.  Want to say they are 220 or 240grn

Lots of people go down that road, and the discussions are always the same. Subsonic 300 is a poor choice for HD, just use full power supersonic 110-125gr loads for that. The subsonic stuff is more of a novelty and has some very niche applications (i.e. hunting quietly just because you want to) but the full power loads are much more effective for everything else.

On expansion of subsonic loads - it's not about just picking a "good" bullet, you need to pick something specifically designed for subsonic expansion. Most hunting rifle bullets (including the premium stuff) don't expand at all at subsonic speeds and are not much more than a ballistic ice pick unless you hit bone.
The recommendation for the 194gr Lehigh is a good one, and arguably the best other than cast hollow points you can make yourself.

Maker's REX bullets are also another good choice for subsonic expanding 30cal bullets.
