Thanks again everyone. No snakes and the temps never got above 50.
We were in the birds Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, but only managed one. Pup was destroying herself in talus and scree, so moved on to quail in a different area and we did much better.
Any advice on treating foot wounds is welcomed! Maybe a stupid question, but any thoughts on those paw booties for hunting in this type of terain? Im really hooked on the idea of chukar hunting and found a good spot, but concerned about her seriously damaging her feet.
Motorcycle tube boots are cheap and they work. Look it up on Youtube, a Texas guy. I use vet wrap under them and attach with quality electrical tape. If you plan on running multiple days it's silly not to use them.
