Lost rifle (In Idaho)
« on: October 22, 2019, 03:27:56 PM »
One of our hunting camp left a rifle on the side of the road up in Unit 6 (Saint Joe river area) last week. Went back 30 minutes later once it was noticed and the rifle was gone.

Maybe someone on here knows something?

Shipping and FFL involved. That’s the price you pay.

I’m just happy to have confirmation on my theory that most people are good folks. The loser of the rifle immediately thought the worse and that some one stole the rifle. I tried to explain that he wouldn’t do that, and I wouldn’t do that, and that I believed most folks were of similar mindset. And as it turns out, the gentleman who picked up the rifle was of similar mindset, as were a few other folks involved. So for this one event there are at least 5 people who don’t want a rifle that isn’t theirs, and will go out of their way to get it back to the owner.

Good people!

Thats awesome he got it back. For anyone who finds something, write your number on some flagging and tie it where you found the item, it will save some hassle

This! It really works. My buddy lost a bow opening day after an archery kill. We go back to a note and a number. Called the guy met up and got the bow. Awesome guy and good deed

That is just awesome!!
My younger brother found a bank envelope driving our tractor as kids on the road. We stopped he picked it up and said we won the lottery. There was $1200 in the envelope. Took my dad 5 different tellers to get to the manager for the persons name based on the account number. Turns out the guy was on a motorbike and it fell out of his pocket! He was so happy to get the money back, he gave my brother $200. He was 5! In 1980 that was a lot of money!! Always make the max effort to return lost items.

The tag and number where found is a great idea!!
