I fished South Prarie Creek a lot between '85-'94 but never the Carbon.

never fished it,except up high for trout..I dont think you can fish it now dont know about then

Man that hole by the water treatment plant outlet, use to be a blast to fish for kings. On a good day we use to see 10 - 20 good sized kings come out of that hole. Pretty fun to sit back and watch when a big king hits, then the down stream chase would begin.
I have not been down there in over ten years as well.
Just got way to crazy.

i landed 4 kings over 30lbs last season on the carbon. nothing worth keeping though 

my biggest king ever came from the carbon back in 2002. 66lbs 3oz...weighed on 5 different scales and that was the average weight, all scales were within 2lbs of eachother so i know it was right in the 64-68lb ranger. i hooked it in the first stretch of river only about 20yds from the mouth and landed it 100yds down from the mouth in the puyalup. 2 days before that someone caught one that was 59lbs in the same stretch.

I hate fishing the Carbon anymore because of all the idiots that snag there. If it wasn't for the snaggers and the "Joe Dirt" crowd I'd fish there alot more. I pretty much stick to the Puyallup, at least you have more room to move if you get a nice king on.

i do have some pics somewhere but they are after i got home. but they are crap pictures. the fish is hangin over the bed of a truck i was 5'11" 200lb at the time in the picture and the fish's head was at chest level and the tail hung down to just past the top of the wheel well.

i posted them on a forum once before and everyone claimed im a whimpy guy who was no more then 140lb and 5'5"  so they were comparing the fish to someone of that size and still put the fish at the 45lb mark...so that tells the size of the fish if they still thought it was 45lbs and i was 5'5" 140lbs...picture that compared to how big i really was
i ended up being banned from the forum...people calling me out and what not making personal attacks at me. and i was the one that got banned cause of it and i quote " you are being banded for cause trouble on the forum"

ill try and find the pictures. i havent seen then sence 2003. but i do know i have them somewhere.

even when i had 30+ witnesses and 5 different scales. unless you get solid pics with it hanging on the scale then noone ever believes it.

I believe he was asking why you would not keep a fish that big?
My guess is most of the fish out of that hole are  pretty much spawned out. About 1 in 10 are still bright. Back in the day I took a 28 lb beautiful king out of there, most are not worth keeping but can be incredibly fun to fight on steelhead gear.
That would be my guess.
