What are some of the favorite .223 bullets for coyote that anchor them right there?

I shoot 55 minimum prefer heavier. I have had bad luck with "grenade" varmit type bullets on coyotes. I like soft points. I think people shoot 223 further then they should on coyotes, they are very tough animals.  I try to limit my 223 to 300 yards, which is plenty for calling.

I've shot quite a few different bullets for coyotes in 223's, but my favorite for the last few years has been the 53gr Vmax.

Hornady 52 gr BTHP match, as with any bullet just don't hit them around the edges

55 grain v-max. Killed a ton of them from 20 yards to 300, all dropped in their tracks. Frontal shots normally won't have an exit hole, even at close range. 95% of the hides are good to save.

I use a 62 grain soft point. I bought  500 of them about 5 or 6 years ago. They work good. Here are a couple recent kills.

If you want DRT results,Keep in mind I have not called in and shot many Coyotes but the ones I have in the last 20 years prefer the Speer #1035 52 Grain H.P. Load some up with 26 grains of H-335 and you will have a excellent fur bullet.Never had a runner with this load,But I do pride myself on good shot placement. This is by no means a HOT load, Its 3050 from a 16 inch 1 in 9 twist .And to be truthful I have yet to find a 223 that did not group well with this load.Try it you will like it.

thanks for all replies,I went thru all my reloading supplies and found 3 boxes of 100 52 grain Hornady BTHP Match bullets.#2249.Ill give them a try.

What i have been using has either been a punch thru and run into den or total fur destruction about 1 out of 4 times.
