Open Range A/T tires from Les Schwabs
« on: November 18, 2019, 09:13:14 PM »
Does anyone have experience with these? (Open Range A/T, 10 ply, 60,000 rated) Currently I run the Toyo Open Country A/T's and really like them, but I was told from Shcwabbies that they are not selling them anymore and this is basically their own model of the Toyo A/T's. I run the 275/70/18's on my Silverado 1500. Looking for opinions on them IF you have them.

Thanks!

I run them on both my rigs (toyota 4runner and 3/4 dodge diesel).  So far so good.....I only have 5k on each set so far.

I have used them for years and decided to try the Back Country AT a year ago. I was happy with the Open Country but when it came time to replace them, the Back Country was on sale so I tried them. I’m happy with them too, both have been very good tires, even in the gumbo and shale that causes so many issues in Montana.

We put a few 10 plies on the trucks in the summer and like them.

I put a set of back country A/T 6 plies on my Toyota in September and put 3 thousand miles on them. They seem to handle great on wet roads, in snow, and on muddy logging roads.

Just a word of caution...if you plan on driving off-pavement on the eastern side of Montana, 10 ply tires are a must and non negotiable! :twocents:

I have them on one of my trucks and haven't had any complaints. Probably 30,000 miles on them I'd guess. I haven't noticed any difference from the old Toyo set but I don't do anything super aggressive with them, just drive down FS roads and winter driving.
