Nile unit

My older brother and I were thinking of hunting the Nile this coming week for the late season. Was wondering if anyone had luck in there or some advice. We wanted to try a new GMU. Any advice would be much appreciated hoping to get my first muley! Thanks guys and gals.

Have you looked at the harvest rate for deer in the Yakima GMUs? Your not going to see much. Better off chasing elk with the million other guys

Yeah I saw that my brother has elk tag but I was thinking to get away from road hunters. Put 3 or 4 miles in and see what I can find deeper in.

There’s actually a lot of deer in the Nile. Go up clover springs area and you have a good chance at finding some deer. Elk too.

In my experience there are going to be more deer down on the slopes above the naches river. Try the 1603 and 250 roads...

Ok I’ll check that out also. It looks like there should be weather moving in to and get some snow so that’s going to help a ton

   However, I will add that nearly every time I have seen large numbers of deer and bucks I was on private property. When I am on public land in the Nile I don't see a whole lot of deer. I have seen tons of elk up clover springs but not much for deer in recent years.

It’s no matter what when your driving to your hunting spot or trip there’s always those nice bucks you pass on private property just before you turn off the road to your hunting spot

I'll add that during general season we saw most of the deer in higher elevations. Timberwolf area is where we've seen the most this year. Also the snow line was decent.

I’ll have to look on the map for Timberwolf area and check that out. We decided we are going over there Monday and spend the whole week over there. If anyone is hunting the unit during. Just DM me and we can meet up up there.

Don't look up the Timberwolf area as the bumping GMU isn't open late season.
