Dont hunt 175 unit they took that out last year and only give out 1 tag for that unit. Whitetail by misery is hard to believe.

My daughter has this tag too (see Deer dilemma).  Looks like it might stay in the pocket while hunting whitetail in Idaho.  Scouted it this weekend--saw lots of mulies on public land and one wt up high.

Well we pounded the ground in areas 181 and 172, got permission on 2 land owners both having over 1,200 acers each also hit all the blm and chief joseph wildlife areas available to hunt in these two units. Tag soup. Very few does and only saw 2- spikes 1- forked. Talking with 1/2 doz  land owners they all had same story 1 year with blue tong and 2 bad winter kills there are just no white tail or very few left in these units. They also all agreed that the up coming muzzy season they were hoping that the state would shut down the doe harvest but that did not happen ( so if yer a muzzy guy and want to try to help out the white tail crisis don't shoot them for a couple years.). We also ran in to 2 other hunters who were so frustrated with the amount of or lack of deer they pulled camp and headed north to finish late buck out. would like to here from some of the other 47 tag holders.

Couldn’t make it due to a back injury.  Sounds like I didn’t miss much.

I ended up with tag soup as well. Passed on multiple bucks. Really bad year to draw this tag. No rut activity whatsoever. I wasn’t going to pull the trigger with 8 points

I was in GMU 178 for the day yesterday. Saw about 20 does and a couple small bucks, most of which were whitetails. 8 or so deer in town in Pomeroy, all mule deer.
Usually by this time of year, the mule deer in that area all seem to have moved down towards town or the river for the winter so wasn't surprised.
