Gunsmith for revolver work - south sound
« on: November 27, 2019, 05:29:30 PM »
I picked up a Ruger Redhawk in .45 colt/acp a while back and like the gun. However it seems to lead up with cast at normal velocities. I slugged the barrel and it comes out to .452 like it should, but the cylinder throats seem to be around .451 or so. I’ve heard that this is common with Rugers and getting them reamed out to about .0005 over bore diameter is optimal. Anyone have a good gunsmith they’d recommend taking it to, preferably in the south end?
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun
