Only been out three times for chukar and shunked all three times. Time to find some new spots. There are a lot of chukar hunters now. Just have to drive farther i guess.

This past weekend treated us well on Chuckar. Five birds taken between two hunters, no dogs. Plenty of birds but they are taking flight at some distance now. Gotta sneak up on them.

Haven’t been able to get out much but have hunted twice and the place we have been getting into 100 bird days (not killing) have got into maybe 2-5 birds I don’t know what’s going on with the chukar in our spots but looks like you hit some great spots

My usuals are doing very well. Some of the new spots I have hunted have been great as well. Over all the populations are thriving and birds seem to be doing well.  I have seen fewer huns this year in the elevations, but the coveys we are getting into are dense and the birds are eating well.

Huh, last year our chukar count was 152. I’d be surprised if we clear 50 this year.

The kid I have mentored in the past and passed down the local chukar notebook to is doing real well this year.

From what he's been telling me, numbers are a bit down.
