Anyone ever use the Mudbob Water Walker?
« on: November 07, 2019, 12:53:56 PM »
Curious if any of you guys have ever used one of these for waterfowl hunting:

http://mudbob.net/

How are they for navigability when used with a kayak paddle? Superior to a float tube, or about the same? How about in terms of stability?

Been thinking of getting one for awhile to use for setting dekes in deeper water, and possibly for sitting in during a hunt.

I've never used one and I have a boat to take me to where I generally hunt but I could still see use for one in certain situations to put me out into the middle of the weeds and shallow ponds in a couple of areas that are too mushy to walk in.

I think they could be a really great tool for a walk-in hunter.

I wouldn't mind having one for my arsenal.  It's like hunting with a float tube, only it's solid and has a higher cargo capacity.

I was not aware of this product and have never used it. I would go with a float tube for the uses you described. It would be lighter and cheaper. 35lbs is quite a bit in addition to the rest of your gear. I have been using a Cabelas float tube for years now. I bought it for $90. I deflate it and carry a foot pump in the side pocket for when I get to my spot. I could see use of this product if you are on a lease or private ground where you don't have to carry it for a long ways but otherwise I would go float tube.

Unique product and would be much more durable than a float tube, but 35 lbs ain't light! That's still much lighter than the paddleboat I was grasping last weekend to avoid sinking in the muck or stepping in holes that would be over my waders...

Might work.  Like a floating walker for duck hunters.
Cut em!

Strap to a game cart and you could move it real easy.

I am not a chest wader guy. And I really like my kayak. Which is 76 lbs but has a 450 lb payload.
With a Ctug Ican move it around easy. And floats in6 inches of water.

It I had one of these mud walkers I would use it for a dog platform most the time.

Says they are out of stock.

$400.00 might be better options.

For $700.00 you can buy a H12 Asend and get a lot more use year round.
