The Lolo and Selway were ground zero for ID wolf introduction. Selway pre wolf elk herd 17+ K, down to 2K now.

I'll be in this country after Christmas looking for wolves. Been doing a ton of research on the topo maps and the ground and have a decent game plan. Guys I talked to who hunted hard this year didn't see a single bull all season.

wife and I are taking the trapping certification classes in ID this winter. Where I plan to start trapping and hoping to do my part in helping elk. A guy outta St Maries this year has already filled his 20 wolf tags trapping.

I'll be spending 4-5 nights starting Sunday in the back of my truck up the Lochsa. Hope the temps don't get too cold, but the snow on the ground and forecasted snow is promising for some good hunting.

The good news about WA Wolves is when we finally get a chance to hunt and trap we will have a ton of knowledge learned from hunting them in Idaho first. It will give us a better start then what they had in Idaho the first year

over 50 wolves alone outta that area around St maries killed this year. All I know that saved alot of deer, elk and moose

My buddies uncle trapped 20 wolves this year in Idaho.  I'm signed up for a general trapping class in March.  Then I'll get wolf certified.  Hounds on the way for Idaho cats and bear hunts!

Wishful thinking I guess. You guys are probably right. Even when the day comes, it will be lawsuits and such just like Wisconsin and Idaho and it gets pushed out over and over

Was in 12 last Sunday. Saw +/- 70 elk in the stretch of highway before daylight and 17 miles of ground I covered.

Saw lots more elk sign in the drainage I was set up and calling wolves in. Wolves were in that drainage less than a day before I went up there. Lots of wolf *censored* and tracks on the trails and ridges I walked. Less than 6" of snow on top of the ridges I was on. Hoping to get down there again in a few weeks once it snows so I can cover more ground on skis.
