CZ-USA 527
« on: December 12, 2019, 02:30:25 PM »
I’ve been thinking about adding a 223 to my centerfire rifle collection, and came across a 527 Carbine model today, at a local pawnshop. Built in 2012, looks to be in perfect shape and shot very little.
Just curious if these 527 rifles are real shooters like the 452’s and the 455’s in rimfire. I know there is a big following with the target and small game crowd.
MAGA, Never give up.

I loved my 527 and jokingly told my buddy I’d only sell it for $1,000 when he wouldn’t quit asking after a prairie dog trip. Next day he gave me $1000. But I did have a BC stock and did a few upgrades to it in school. Still regret it though and plan to get one again. Sweet shooters for sure!
May my presence go unnoticed, may my shot be true, may the blood trail be short.

Amen

Never had one on 223, but I have two 527's in 17 Hornet and I used to have them in 204 Ruger and 17 Rem.  Of the four CZ 527's I've had, they all were their Varmint model and they all shot very well.  It's not to often you hear of them not shooting pretty good, so if the deal was right and you like the gun, I don't see any reason not to buy it.

In my experience they are great shooters, smooth action, and the set trigger is awesome.  Very happy with mine.  I have the American model in 223 and my wife has the Varmint model in 223. Both excellent shooters.

I have one in 7.62x39. One of my favorite guns as far as fun factor goes. Originally bought it for a plinker, but ended up reloading for it and was very impressed with the results. The set trigger is great and the whole thing is adjustable.  Scope mounting is a bit of a challenge due to the odd bolt handle(I had to update mine with a newer bolt handle to clear a scope with medium rings)

A lot of guys don’t like the backward safety or the look of the protruding magazine, they don’t really bother me. I am probably going to send in the bottom metal and a magazine to an outfit that cuts them down, since the balance point is on the mag well, to make it nicer to carry, and save a few of the 5 rounders for target shooting.
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun

I have an American m1 that's a 1/2" gun if I do my part. I also have addded the lower bolt handle to facilitate medium rings.
nuke the gray whales for jesus!
