A dead elk is a good elk.

Actually to go with the topic.  The perfect elk is a dead elk.

Beautiful bull.  IMO the purest beauty for an elk rack is a 5x5.

That is a perfect bull imo. I love big symmetrical 6x6 bulls the most.

I'll take thickness and width, of course long tines and beams.  But I've seen many different perfect elk, one of my favorites was a big 5 point, he wasn't getting any bigger and he was magical.

I took my son out last spring on his 5th birthday to do some scouting, and we saw a cow elk bedded down with a new born calf.  We watched them for the better part of the morning from a neighboring ridge.  I told my son that calf was going to grow up to be the "Bull of the Woods".  He thought that was pretty cool.

That was about the most perfect elk I've witnessed.

I voted anything with antlers, but my perfect bull would be a Rosie that was crowned and had a bunch of trashy stuff going on.
